The German PV company Sunways is ready to start supplying its AT, NT and PT series of inverters to international markets following these products certification.
The inverters are roof-mounted and rated to 2.5 to 5kW and have successfully passed tests in a number of European countries including the UK, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Portugal. The NT series has also been certified in Turkey and Australia.
There is a growing demand within the UK for small roof-mounted systems of capacities between 2500 and 5000 watts which the German company can now exploit. The inverters are fitted with the patented HERIC topology, a process invented by electrical engineer Heribert Schmidt from the acclaimed Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems. This technology prevents the return of current between the output conductor and the input capacitor resulting in an inverter efficiency of 98%. It is worth mentioning at this point by the way that the NT series are top performers among 5-kW string inverters. The NT series have MPP (massively parallel processor) multi-tracking while the PT series has an active alarm function which relays system warnings by modem or network connection. The NT3000 won the Joseph von Fraunhofer prize this year.
Because Sunways inverters are easy to operate and the country of installation can be specified with a single touch of a button, a single Sunways inverter can be used in all countries without difficulty. They can be used in all weather conditions and have a high degree of flexibility with both thin-film and silicon modules.
Sunways also offers a possibility of extending the standard 5 year guarantee to 20 years, guaranteeing security of functioning with onsite service included. There is also the offer of signing up to a service contract.
